Portuguese outfit Rio Ave confirm release of Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Boateng

Portuguese club Rio Ave has confirmed the release of Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Boateng.

After much deliberation, the team management decided to let go of Boateng at the end of his contract.

This announcement came via an official statement released by the “Green and White lads” on Wednesday.

Rio Ave Futebol Clube announces the departures of Josué, Devenish, Adrien, João Teixeira, Joca, Boateng, Zé Manuel, and André Pereira.

Devenish and João Teixeira return to their clubs after loan periods while the remaining athletes end their ties with our club.

To everyone, Rio Ave Futebol Clube thanks you for all your professionalism and dedication, wishing you much success for the future,” the statement reads.

Boateng joined the club on a two-year deal in 2023 after leaving Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang. He played 28 games, scored 7 goals, and provided 2 assists.

On May 30, 2018, he made his senior appearance for the Black Stars, marking his debut with a goal by scoring a penalty in the 51st minute of the game.
