Real Oviedo midfielder Kwasi Sibo has criticised the Black Stars for prioritising individual brilliance over teamwork during their failed 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
Ghana finished bottom of Group F, collecting just three points from five matches, with no wins and only three goals scored.
It marked the first time since 2004 that the Black Stars failed to qualify for the continental event.
Speaking on Asempa FM, Sibo said: “I watched the qualifiers, and what I realised was that there was too much individuality, but unlike the World Cup qualifiers.”
“You can see the bond and love among the players now for the World Cup qualifiers, but during the AFCON qualifiers, we did not see that.”
Sibo now joins growing calls for tactical discipline and greater team spirit as the Black Stars prepare for the rest of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The team will reassemble in September for the World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali.
