Ghana Football Association President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has been appointed Chair of the CAF Inter-Club Competitions Committee, further strengthening his role in African football governance. T
he announcement, made on July 5, 2025, highlights Okraku’s rising influence after his appointment as CAF Second Vice-President earlier this year.
The Inter-Club Committee oversees CAF’s flagship competitions; the Champions League, Confederation Cup, and Super Cup, key platforms for showcasing African club talent.
Okraku is expected to lead reforms that will enhance competition structures, boost global appeal, and attract investment.
Since assuming the GFA presidency in 2019, Okraku has focused on grassroots football, women’s development, and youth programs. His tenure at WAFU Zone B, which ended in April, saw initiatives aimed at talent nurturing across West Africa.
This appointment makes Okraku the sixth Ghanaian to serve on the CAF Executive Committee, continuing a proud tradition of Ghanaian leadership in continental football.
