President John Mahama has nominated Kofi Adams, Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency, as the new Minister of Sports and Recreation.
The announcement came as part of the third batch of Ministerial appointments awaiting Parliamentary approval.
Adams, who will undergo vetting, is set to replace Mustafa Ussif, who has held the position since 2021.
Kofi, who is expected to go through vetting, replaces Mustafa Ussif, who served as Minister of Sports from 2021 under the New Patriotic Party led by Nana Akufo-Addo.
The politician is expected to change the fortunes of the industry including sports infrastructure, national teams funding and performance at major tournaments.
