Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has rallied his players to deliver a strong performance when they face Aduana FC in the MTN FA Cup Round of 16 next weekend.

The Porcupine Warriors will host the Dormaa-based side on Sunday, February 8, as they continue their defence of the domestic cup title.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, Zito stressed the need for improvement and said the encounter presents an opportunity for his side to respond positively after inconsistent league displays.

“I’m anticipating a good game, better than what we did in the league. One of the best performances I will admit was against Heart of Lions. One nice thing about football is that you always have the opportunity to make an amendment. We will use the match against Aduana to make an amendment to please our fans.

Being the defending champions, we have to show that we are really the defending champions,” Zito told AKSC Media.

Zito, who guided Kotoko to lift the MTN FA Cup last season, remains confident the Reds have what it takes to retain the trophy this term. The upcoming tie is expected to be fiercely contested, with both clubs eager to secure a quarter-final berth.
