Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has described his side’s showing against Heart of Lions as one of their poorest performances of the 2025/26 season.
The Porcupine Warriors suffered a 3–1 defeat to Heart of Lions in a Week 21 Ghana Premier League encounter at the Kpando Sports Stadium, a result that left the Kotoko boss visibly disappointed with his team’s output.
Reflecting on the loss while previewing their upcoming MTN FA Cup fixture, Zito admitted the performance fell far below expectations but stressed that football always offers a chance for redemption.
“One of the worst performances, I will admit, was against Heart of Lions. One nice thing about football is that you always have the opportunity to make an amendment. We will use the match against Aduana to make an amendment to please our fans,” Zito told AKSC Media.
Kotoko will now shift focus to the MTN FA Cup Round of 16 clash against Aduana FC, scheduled for Sunday, February 8, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, with kick-off set for 3:00 pm. The Reds will be eager to bounce back strongly and restore confidence among their supporters.
