Ghanaian winger Kamal Sowah has revealed the enduring connection he shares with his head coach, Carl Hoefkens.
Sowah reunited with Hoefkens at Standard Liege during the summer transfer window, where he joined on loan, having previously collaborated at Club Brugge in 2022.
During their prior partnership, Sowah excelled in the UEFA Champions League, registering two goals in seven appearances. He featured in 27 games in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League and contributed with four assists.
After a season with limited playing time at Club Brugge in 2022/23, Sowah embarked on a season-long loan deal with Standard Liege, including an option for a permanent transfer.
Since joining Liege, he has already scored two goals in five league matches, effectively revitalizing his club career.
In an interview with De Zondag newspaper, Sowah expressed his delight at reuniting with Carl Hoefkens, emphasizing that their strong bond was the key to reigniting his football career.
He stated, “I immediately saw I still had the same bond with Hoefkens. That was all I needed. I am playing football again, and I love Liège.”
