West Ham United will make the trip across Europe to Gent this Thursday evening with the Hammers facing a tough trip in their current form against the Belgian Pro League fourth-placed side.
Unlike West Ham, Gent are boasting of another solid season once more and sit top fourth on the domestic front. They did finish top of the table last season, but this time around, the club are still in relatively solid form coming into this Europa Conference League battle.

More impressively, the Belgian giants have now let in just 36 goals in 32 games and this puts them as the second best defensive side in Belgium this season.
Gent did, however, draw over the past weekend when they met with Union Saint-Gilloise as Hugo Cypers scored late on after conceding an early goal with his penalty sealing a point at home to the impressive second-placed Saint-Gilloise.
At the same time, however, Gent smashed RFC Seraing in the last outing with Gift Orban and Cuypers scoring a barce each with a goal in either half, as Jordan Torunarigha scored late on in a game that saw Gent win 5-0 on the road with 10 shots on target from a total of 18 efforts.
As for West Ham, they head into this game after a swift return to the win column following on from their heaviest defeat of the season at home to Newcastle United. The Hammers went on to beat Fulham at Craven Cottage against the odds thanks to a first half own goal from Harrison Reed.
The result keeps David Moyes’ side out of the relegation zone by three points but his side continue to struggle on the domestic front after showing a lot of promise in Europe so far.
West Ham went on to win all their games throughout the group stages of the competition and scored 18 goals and let in just four with victories over Anderlecht, FCSB and Silkeborg establishing the London outfit as one of the favourites to win the trophy.
The 14th-placed Premier League side went on to better their claim to win the Europa Conference League by beating AEK Larnaca 2-0 away from home and 4-0 back at the London Stadium.
West Ham will now head to Belgium with great confidence in getting a lead to take back to east London, but Gent’s solid form at home could be problematic for Moyes to work out.
Forebet predicts a draw and under 2.5 goals.
