West Ham United manager Julen Lopetegui has expressed disappointment over Mohammed Kudus’ dismissal during their 4-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League.
The Ghana international had a promising start, scoring his second goal of the season in the 18th minute.
However, his afternoon took a turn for the worse in the second half when he was involved in a confrontation with Tottenham’s Micky Van De Ven and Pape Sarr, which led to his sending off.
Speaking to BBC after the game, Lopetegui emphasized the need for his team to remain calm and improve during challenging moments.
“I think Mo [Mohammed Kudus] had a great match in the first half, above all,” Lopetegui said.
“It was a pity he didn’t stay on the pitch until the end. Despite that one moment happening, we have to avoid these kinds of moments. The players have to control this situation because the red card is not a good thing for him, for us, or for the club.”
