Ghana winger Joseph Paintsil has vowed not to give up on Los Angeles Galaxy’s faltering season, insisting he and his teammates will “keep fighting” despite their struggles in Major League Soccer.
A year after winning the MLS title, Galaxy have endured a dramatic fall, sitting bottom of the Western Conference and already out of play-off contention.
Paintsil captained the side for the first time last weekend in their 2-1 defeat to FC Dallas, describing the moment as a source of pride despite the result.
“Champions keep playing until they get it right. You are not defeated when you lose ; you are defeated when you quit. Proud to have led the team out the other time. We will keep fighting,” the Ghanaian wrote on social media after the game.
The 26-year-old has been one of Galaxy’s few bright spots this season, scoring nine goals in 24 league appearances.
Paintsil has since joined the Black Stars in Morocco ahead of Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against the Central African Republic and Comoros.
