The Fulham defender will play a key role at right back for Ghana throughout the campaign and reckons the training in Paris will matter to the rest of the squad as much as the tournament itself.
The Black Stars will be training in the French capital up to May 29 with 23 places up for grabs from a group of 30 players.
And Paintsil says the uncertainty about who makes it means players can’t take anything for granted.
“There are places to battle for but above all, this offers a good opportunity to bond well as a team, to strengthen our team spirit and to increase our understanding as a playing unit. It all begins with the camping and how seriously we take it will directly affect how well we do,” the defender told KickOffGhana.com.
“For us the objective is to ensure that we do well in our friendly games and o go to South Africa in the right frame of mind because I have always said this tournament is the real measure of Ghana football and whether we have made progress since our last campaign on the same stage in Germany.
