Inter Milan will be aiming to bounce back immediately from their terrible loss to Juventus in Turin over the past weekend with the Old Lady now moving ahead of them in the table and leaving Inter in seventh ahead of playing hosts to Bologna at the San Siro.
It’s been a dreadful season for Inter so far and it has easily been their worst start to a league campaign in the past decade and talks of a title challenge are not even at the forefront of discussions for the blue side of San Siro.
After the loss to Juventus, they are now seventh and unlikely to end up in the top four ahead of the World Cup break, unless they win these next two games and those above them lose both of theirs.
This remains an unlikely thing to happen in any scenario, but first of all, Inter have to get back in the win column and patch up what has been a terrible defence so far.
In fact, with the club now three points behind Atalanta in the race for the top four before the World Cup break, Inter head into this game with Bologna after letting in 19 goals from 13 games and struggling to keep a clean sheet at all this season.
At the same time, with five losses now on the board, their inconsistencies are clear to see with Inter not drawing a single game in Serie A.
The 2020/21 champions have managed to score 25 times in the league, but off the back of also losing to Bayern Munich in the Champions League around this time last week, the club have let in four goals in the past two games and not scored a single goal.
As for Bologna, they remain incredibly topsy-turvy and have now moved up into 12th after a solid run of form has seen them win all four of their recent games in all competitions.
The club began this run with a narrow 1-0 win at home to Cagliari in the Coppa Italia second round, before beating Lecce 2-0, Monza 2-1 and most recently, Torino 2-1.
It gives Bologna a decent chance of getting into the top half of the table before the break for the World Cup, but at the same time, this remains unlikely because of how they need most of the clubs around them to drop points.
Forebet predicts a win for Inter and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
