Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey is set to be out of the field for as long as six weeks due to his recent injury.
Arsenal, announced on Sunday that he would be unable to participate in the highly anticipated match against Manchester United in the English Premier League.
In a brief social media post, the London-based club disclosed that Thomas Partey had sustained a groin injury.
Despite the absence of the highly-regarded midfielder, Arsenal emerged victorious, defeating Manchester United 3-1 in the match.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed concern about Partey’s injury, stating, “It doesn’t look good. We need further tests. I believe he’ll be sidelined for a few weeks,” following the game on Sunday.
Current reports suggest that Thomas Partey could potentially be sidelined for up to six weeks. This would result in him missing several matches, including Arsenal’s fixtures against Everton, Tottenham, Bournemouth, and Manchester City, as well as matches against PSV Eindhoven and Lens in the UEFA Champions League.
It is hoped that he will make a return in October.
Unfortunately, due to this injury, Partey will not be part of the Ghana squad for the 2023 AFCON qualifier against the Central African Republic.
