Chicago Fire star David Accam feels hurt to miss this month’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations double qualifiers against Mozambique because of injury.
Accam sprained his knee in training and expected to spend two weeks in the treatment.
He had been named in Avram Grant’s 23-man squad for the back-to-back matches starting this Thursday in Accra.
“It is really disappointing because I have worked for this opportunity. The whole year, especially in the off season, I have been working hard for this chance,” Accam told Joy Sports.
“For me not to come to Ghana and play is disappointing for me but that is part of life and I have to move on and come back stronger.”
Accam has made a bright start to his season in the MLS by scoring two goals in two matches.
