Ghanaian striker Inaki Williams scored a dramatic 96th-minute winner for Athletic Club against Valencia, dedicating the goal to his newborn son.
Williams came off the bench to latch onto a low cross from his brother Nico and sweep home from close range, securing a 2-1 win and sending Athletic Club to the Copa del Rey semifinals.
“This could be a major turning point for us,” Williams said, acknowledging the team’s difficult season. “The first goal I can dedicate to my son. The season has been tough, but this win gives us a boost.”
Williams has struggled with injuries and form this season, scoring just two goals in 21 appearances.
The win marks a significant moment for Williams, who’s known for his loyalty to Athletic Club, rejecting lucrative offers from top European clubs.
His brother Nico provided the assist for the winning goal, showcasing their impressive chemistry on the pitch.
