Head coach of Mauritania, Amir Abdou has confirmed his readiness to coach the Black Stars team should the Ghana Football Association hand him the opportunity.
The Black Stars are without a head coach following the dismissal of Chris Hughton after the team’s disappointing performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
It is understood over 600 coaches have applied for the vacant position including coach Abdou.
“Who wouldn’t want to coach Ghana?” he replied to max.com.gh’s Ampofo Ankrah when asked if he would be interested in the current vacant head coach position of the Black Stars of Ghana.
A five-member committee has been instituted to recommend a new coach to the Executive Council for the Football Association in 21 days.
