Thomas Partey has shared his thoughts on Arsenal’s Champions League quarterfinal clash against Real Madrid, stating that the tie was surprisingly one of the more manageable fixtures for the Gunners.
Arsenal beat Real Madrid home and away in the quarter finals of the Champions League to progress to the semi finals where they lost to eventual winners PSG.
“Because Real Madrid is one of the world’s top teams, winning against them is a bonus, but our games against Man City and Chelsea were of much higher intensity,” Partey told 3Sports. “As a player, I think the Real Madrid game is one of the normal games we played.”
Despite this, Partey’s masterful midfield control and strategic awareness were crucial in Arsenal’s 3-0 demolition of Real Madrid.
He played a stellar role in the Gunners’ Champions League quarterfinal, dictating proceedings against Madrid’s experienced midfielders.
Partey completed 61 out of 66 passes, including seven passes into the final third, and won four out of seven ground duels. His defensive solidity was also evident, with six ball recoveries and one interception.
Partey’s authoritative midfield presence and tactical acumen were instrumental in Arsenal’s dominance, helping the team secure their first semifinals spot since 2009.
His experience playing against top teams, including Real Madrid during his time at Atletico Madrid, likely contributed to his confidence and composure on the pitch.
