Charles Kwablan Akonnor has sympathized with embattled trainer Chris Hughton following the growing pressure on the trainer.
The former Brighton and Holve Albion gaffer has been under the cosh in recent weeks after the narrow defeat to Comoros in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers despite the solitary win over Madagascar.
The team had suffered back to back losses to Mexico and USA in October’s international friendlies.
“I know what he is going through. It’s a difficult time. Sometimes, you can get confused especially when the whole nation comes at you,” Akonnor told JoySports.
“I know what he is going through. It’s a difficult time” he said.
Hughton will have to shift his attention towards next year’s 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
