Asante Kotoko Interim Management Committee chairman Nana Apinkrah says their Toyota Cup victory over Kaizer Chiefs has strengthened the club’s confidence ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
The Porcupine Warriors will know their preliminary round opponents on August 12 at the official draw in Tanzania.
“We used less than two weeks to prepare for the Kaizer Chiefs game and still emerged victorious,” he said. “Even with the referee against us, we won. With prayers from Otumfuo, we believe we can do something better in the Confederation Cup.”
Kotoko qualified for the tournament after winning the FA Cup last season.
