Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana says the chance to join Atalanta was simply too good to pass up, describing the move as a “no-brainer.”
The 22-year-old sealed a long-term switch from English side Southampton to the Italian Serie A outfit this summer.
The deal, reportedly worth up to £18 million, marks a significant step forward in Sulemana’s career.
In his first interview with the club’s media, the former FC Nordsjaelland star expressed his delight at the opportunity to compete at the highest level.
“I’m very excited to play in the Champions League. When Atalanta called, I had no doubts,” Sulemana said.
“This is one of the best clubs in Italy in recent years. I couldn’t say no. It was an unmissable opportunity.”
Atalanta have built a reputation as one of Serie A’s most progressive teams, known for their fluid attacking football and commitment to nurturing young talent.
Their recent qualification for the UEFA Champions League only adds to their growing appeal.
