Hohoe United picked up an important 2-1 victory against Nations FC to strengthen their fight against relegation.
The home side wasted no time asserting themselves, breaking the deadlock in the 7th minute through William Oduro.
Lawson Bekui struck again in the 11th minute to hand Hohoe a commanding early advantage.
Nations gradually grew into the contest and almost halved the deficit midway through the first half when Evans Sarfo narrowly missed the target after connecting with Brandon Sarpong’s short corner.
Sarpong then came close himself on the half-hour mark, weaving past defenders before watching his powerful effort rebound off the post.
The visitors eventually found a breakthrough in the 36th minute as Grippman Raymond rose highest to head in Danso’s inviting delivery.
That goal shifted the momentum, but Hohoe managed the game effectively to protect their slender lead.
The victory moves Hohoe to 23 points, though they remain in the drop zone as they prepare for a tough away fixture against Aduana FC.
Nations, now on 27 points in 11th position, will look to respond positively when they take on Dreams next.
