NCC Chairman of Hearts of Oak, Elvis Herman Hesse, has expressed his disapproval of Bashir Hayford being considered for the head coach position at the club.
The Phobians parted ways with Martin Koopman on Tuesday following the team’s unconvincing performance, securing only two wins in ten matches this season and remaining winless in five of their last six outings.
Currently positioned 11th in the Ghana Premier League with 10 points out of a possible 30 after ten weeks, Hearts of Oak is actively exploring managerial options.
Various names, including coach Bashir Hayford, have surfaced in media discussions as potential candidates for the position.
In response to the speculation, Mr. Hesse voiced his opposition to the appointment of the former Legon Cities manager, stating, “I don’t support the idea of Coach Bashir Hayford being given the Accra Hearts of Oak job,” during an interview with Joy Sports.
Following Koopman’s dismissal, Abdul Rahim Bashiru has been named as the club’s interim trainer as Hearts of Oak navigates the process of securing a permanent head coach.
