Former Hearts of Oak legend, Dan Quaye, has voiced his concerns about the club’s management and their questionable approach to player signings.
Quaye criticized the club for signing players without a coach, a move that is unusual in the football world. He noted that other clubs typically involve scouts who have monitored players for an extended period before making such decisions.
However, at Hearts of Oak, Quaye claimed that the Board, driven by their own interests, handles transfers without input from a technical expert.
“Who signs players without a coach? Where will this happen in the world if not Hearts of Oak? Elsewhere even when they are signing players without a coach, they have scouts who have monitored players for a long time but at Hearts of Oak the Board with their selfish interests do all these transfers without a technical person,”
In addition to this, Quaye expressed frustration with the club’s management style, describing it as chaotic. He alleged that when experienced players like Gladson Awako voiced their concerns, they were often pushed out of the club, implying a lack of openness to constructive criticism.
Quaye’s criticisms extended to the leadership within the club, citing the departures of players like Sulley Muntari as examples of valuable contributors being disregarded.
“There is no proper leadership in the club. The same thing happened to Sulley Muntari because they will not accept any contributions he brought on board considering his experience in the game.”
These comments shed light on the challenges and internal issues facing Hearts of Oak, a club with a storied history but seemingly struggling with leadership and decision-making.
