Hearts of Oak gear up for AS Bamako clash with narrow win over Mighty Jets

Hearts of Oak are continuing preparations for the first leg clash of the tie against AS Bamako in the CAF Confederation Cup this week.

As part of preparations, the capital-based club this afternoon locked horns with Division One League club Tudu Mighty Jets in a friendly at the Madina Astroturf.

At the end of the very good exercise, Hearts of Oak secured a narrow victory courtesy of a first-half strike from poster boy Daniel Afriyie Barnieh.

During the friendly, Hearst of Oak had the opportunity to assess almost every first team member.

The starting eleven for the second half was changed in the second half to give other players the chance to show what they can offer.

Training is expected to continue on Wednesday. According to sources, it is likely that interim head coach David Ocloo will take charge of the first training session.

The former Asante Kotoko coach will be the tactician in the dugout over the weekend when Hearts of Oak takes AS Bamako in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup tie.

That game will be played in Mali before the Phobians return home to stage the reverse fixture.
