Hearts of Oak’s head coach, Martin Koopman, has expressed his confidence in the team’s performance despite their challenging start to the season.
With just five points from the first five games of the season, the Phobians are currently languishing in 16th place on the league table.
Their struggles have been particularly evident in the goal department, having scored only once thus far.
That solitary goal was a contribution from Ramos Kashala in their week two fixture against Nsoatreman FC at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Despite the mounting pressure and questions about his suitability as head coach, Koopman remains resolute in his belief in the team.
“I see performance and I’m proud of them. I think we need time because the players are young. We have players between the ages of 19 and 21, so we need time” he said after his team’s goalless draw with Samartex over the weekend.
As Hearts of Oak prepares for their next match of the Ghana Premier League season against Bibiani Goldstars, the management of the club are set to make a decision on the future of the manager.
The Dutch trainer, appointed on a one-year deal at the start of the 2023/24 season, finds himself at a crossroads.
