Hearts of Oak assistant coach Abdul Rahim Bashiru has blamed his players for their 2-0 loss to Medeama in the week 25 fixture of the Ghana Premier League.

The Yellow and Mauve delivered an outstanding performance to dispatch struggling Hearts of Oak on Wednesday.

Two second-half goals from defender Kobina Amoah and midfielder Godfred Abban killed the resilience of the Phobians at the Akoon Community Park.

The Phobians, who had a flying start to the second half of the season under coach Aboubakar Ouattara has now suffered three consecutive defeats in the Ghana Premier League.

After the game, Rahim Bashiru asserted the players did not play according to the plan of the coach, hence the defeat.

“It was a very difficult game. We played so well in the first half. Medeama scored us from free-kick, we had same but we couldn’t convert”

“It’s a big worry to us. We have to go back and do a lot of corrections because in the second half the players didn’t play according to the coach game plan” he said.

Hearts of Oak have now dropped to the eleventh position on the Ghana Premier League table after 25 matches, accumulating 32 points.
