Hapless Godwin Attram attributes FA Cup defeat to players’ sickness

Coach of Attram De Visser, Godwin Attram, says his players were indisposed ahead of their MTN FA Cup semi finals game against Golden Kick.

According to Attram, upon arrival in Tarkwa, eight of his players fell sick, leading to the coach demanding a postponement of the game.

His request was declined by the FA Cup organisers as Attram were mauled 3-1 by Golden Kick, leading to their eventual exit.

Reflecting on the result after the game, Attram said:

“From onset, we had eight players who were sick. They got sick immediately we arrived here, and these are the things that affect performance. Because we had really prepared well for this semi-finals.”

“We had to change selection for the preparation with only four players, but they are also part of the team. It is not an excuse. I called in for postponement of the game, but the committee said no.”

Golden Kick will now face either Kotoko or Berekum Chelsea in the final of the FA Cup.
