Greater Accra, Eastern, Brong Ahafo record wins on day three of KGL Foundation Inter regional U-17 cahmpionship

Grrater Accra, Eastern, Volta and Western Region recorded impressive wins on Matchday three of the 2023 KGL Foundation Inter regional U-17 Colts’ championship, currently ongoing in Kumasi.

The championship which began on Saturday, September 30, 2023 has produced some interesting fixtures and competitive displays across the participating regions.4

On match day three, Greater Accra defeated Northern Region 5:0 – with both sides showing class and creating goal scoring opportunities. The first half ended but it was Greater Accra that became more clinical in the second half.

Derrick Akpene Adzofu scored a brace in the 49th and 51st minutes to give Greater Accra a great start to the second half. Northern Region pushed to get on the score sheet but couldn’t utilize any of their chances. David Kwame Koranteng, Michael Awuli and Thomas Dadzie Quayson scored in the last minutes of the game to take the match beyond Northern Region as Greater Accra cruised to a 5-0 win.

In the other Group B match, Eastern Region defeated Volta Region 2:0. Two first half goals from Alfred Obeng and Bilson Agyapong in the 3rd and 8th minutes were enough to hand Eastern Region all the points.

Meanwhile Brong Ahafo recorded a slim win against Upper West Region in group A. Benjamin Boateng’s first half strike in the 16th minute made the difference between the two sides as both teams put up a great performance.

The last game on match day three was a high tempo fixture between Western and Central region. Western won the match by three goals to two after an eye watching encounter between both sides.
