Great Olympics in crisis as CEO & GM resign

Published: 1 month ago
Division one

Great Olympics is facing a leadership crisis as CEO Kudjoe Fianoo and General Manager Eric Alagidede have resigned, effective Monday, February 9, 2026.

Fianoo, a veteran administrator, cited personal reasons for his departure, while Alagidede’s reasons remains unclear.

Alagidede had joined the club in July 2025, tasked with overseeing a strategic rebuild following relegation from the Ghana Premier League.

The resignations come amid the club’s struggles in Division One League Zone Three, where they’re flirting with relegation.

Fianoo’s exit is particularly significant, given his experience as a two-time chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association.

Alagidede, known for his modern management style, had been instrumental in efforts to restore the club’s competitive edge.

The leadership vacuum leaves supporters anxious about the club’s future, with 13 matches remaining in the season.

A new management team is urgently needed to steer Great Olympics back to stability.
