Government committed to building 10 multipurpose stadia – Sports Minister

Minister of Youth and Sports Mustapha Ussif has reaffirmed government’s commitment in the construction of 10 multipurpose stadia across the country.

The initiative to see the AstroTurf across the length and breadth of Ghana is a policy of the New Patriotic Party led by President Nana Akufo-Addo.

Isaac Asiamah, predecessor of the current Sports Minister, began the implementation of the plan which saw towns like Atwima Mponua, Tafo-Kumasi, and Akim Oda having parks.

But several others are waiting for their turn of having a recreational facility in their community.

“Government remains committed to the development of sports infrastructure which includes the construction of 10 multipurpose stadia across the country and the AstroTurf across the country,” Mustapha Ussif reiterated at the GFA ordinary congress on Tuesday.

Ussif has spend an inordinate amount of his spell as minister to oversee adequate preparation for the 2023 Africa Games.
