Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Fredrick Asare has landed in South Africa as he prepares to finalize his move to newly-promoted Premiership side Durban City FC.

The 26-year-old is expected to sign a contract with the club after completing medicals and other formalities in the coming days.

Asare will also meet his new teammates and is scheduled to begin training on Monday.

The club is currently without a head coach, but Gavin Hunt is reportedly the frontrunner for the role.

Asare left Asante Kotoko in June after helping the team secure the FA Cup title during his third season with the Reds.

He previously played for Accra Lions before joining the Porcupine Warriors.
