The Ghana U-15 girls team, Black Damsels has emerged victorious in the 2025 African Schools Football Championship girls’ edition.
The team defeated Uganda 2-1 at the University of Ghana Stadium on Saturday.
Ghana’s ‘ journey to the championship was marked by impressive performances.
In the semifinals, they secured a 2-0 win over Morocco, setting the stage for their showdown with Uganda.
Prior to that, they had booked their place in the final with a thrilling 3-2 victory over defending champions South Africa, coming from behind to triumph in a closely contested match.
As champions, the Ghana U-15 girls’ team will receive a cash prize of $300,000.
The runners-up, Uganda, will be awarded $200,000, while the third-placed team in both the boys’ and girls’ competitions will receive $150,000.
