Ghanaian midfielder Obed Asare has joined Italian club Fasano on a free transfer from Ferrandina, signing a contract until 30 June 2027.
The 22-year-old defensive midfielder completes the move after three seasons in Italy’s lower leagues and will now continue in Serie D Group H with his new side. The deal sees Fasano secure a right-footed midfield anchor without paying a fee, strengthening the spine of their squad ahead of the new campaign.
Asare, born in Cape Coast and standing at 1.75m, arrives with regular Serie D experience already behind him. Last season he featured 30 times in the league, adding one assist and logging more than 2,500 minutes, as well as making three appearances in the Coppa Italia Serie D.
He initially joined Ferrandina on a free transfer in August 2023 and has since established himself as a consistent option in front of the back four. His performances have coincided with a market valuation now set at around €75,000.
Fasano will look to use Asare primarily in a holding role, offering protection to the defence and providing a platform for the club’s more attacking players. The move also represents the latest step in Asare’s career progression after arriving in Italy as a free agent.
With the paperwork completed on 30 July 2026, Asare is now under contract at Fasano through to the end of the 2026-27 season.
