Former Ghana international Asamoah Gyan has called on Ghanaians to lower their expectations of the Black Stars.
His comment comes after Black Stars recent poor outings leading to the teams early exit from last two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments in Cameroon and Cote d’Ivoire.
As a way of finding solutions to the teams problems, the Ghana Football Association renamed Otto Addo as Black Stars manager following the dismissal of Chris Hughton.
Unfortunately Addo’s second coming back hasn’t seen an immediate turnaround, as the team suffered a defeat and a draw during the March international break, falling to Nigeria and sharing points with Uganda.
In an interview with Happy FM Brenya, Gyan opined Ghanaians should limit their expectations for the team. ” l know what we have for the Black Stars team is huge and the love is something else but the team is going through a lot”
”As Ghanaians, we should limit our expectations due to the current challenges faced by the Black Stars”
The team will return to action in June against Mali in the 2026 World Cup Qualifying campaign.
