Ghanaian youngster Leeroy Owusu sent off in Ajax Reserves in Dutch league

Dutch-born Ghanaian youth defender Leeroy Owusu was sent off while in action for Jong Ajax in their 2-1 away triumph over Oss in the Dutch second-tier league on Friday evening.

The 19-year-old full-back who is capped at various youth ranks by the Netherlands was marched off in the 66th minute by the center referee Steven van der Vrande.

Owusu’s sending off cut Ajax’s number to ten in the game but still managed to win thanks to goals from Ghanaian Elton Acolatse and Czech international Vaclav Cerny in either halves.

It was the first time Owusu has received a straight red in his league career while Acolatse’s goal was his first of the season.
