Ghanaian youngster Josh-Kofi Acheampong signs first Professional contract with Chelsea

English-born Ghanaian teenager, Josh-Kofi Acheampong, has officially signed his maiden professional contract with Premier League powerhouse Chelsea Football Club.

The emerging talent, who recently represented England at the U-17 level, committed to the club until the summer of 2026, marking a significant milestone in his football journey.

A statement from Chelsea emphasized Acheampong’s progression through the youth ranks since joining as an Under-8.

The versatile defender, a regular presence for the Under-18s and appearances with the Under-21s, has showcased his potential within the Chelsea academy.

Turning 17 in May, Acheampong was part of the England Under-17 squad at the European Championships and the World Cup, highlighting his international experience at the youth level.

While England currently holds the advantage in his international allegiance, the Ghana Football Association may seek to explore options for his future on the international stage.
