Swedish giants Helsingborg have completed the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Ema Boateng, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
The 19-year-old was captured by the Swedish top-flight side from UC Santa Barbara in the United States.
He signed a contract with Helsingborg for three and half years.
Boateng will join his former team-mate David Accam at the club as they both played for the Right to Dream Academy in Akosombo.
“I spoke to David and he only had good things to say about Helsingborg so I really want to play for Helsingborgs,” Boateng said.
The Swedish giants were also delighted to have sealed the capture of the Ghanaian youngster.
“Accam knows Ema very well and gave a good recommendation to him,” Helsingborg sports director Jesper Jansson.
We know what we’re getting for a player like Boateng. He reminds me a lot of Accam.”
