Ghanaian forward Richardson Takyi has signed his maiden professional contract with Spanish lower-tier side UD Santa Marta.
The 21-year-old attacker, nicknamed “The Lion of Ghana,” is set to add strength and flair to the club’s frontline ahead of the 2025/26 Tercera Federación season.
Standing at 1.94 meters, Takyi is known for his aerial dominance, physicality, and confidence in one-on-one situations.
He developed at Ghana’s WAFA Academy for six years before moving to Spain, where he featured for clubs such as Villaviciosa de Odón and Robledo CF.
Following the official announcement, Takyi expressed gratitude and excitement over the milestone, saying, “Glory to God… thanks to everyone who made this possible.”
UD Santa Marta highlighted the Ghanaian striker’s attributes, calling him a dangerous forward with strong presence in the box.
The Salamanca-based club is currently building a competitive squad as they target a solid campaign in the Spanish fifth division.
