Ghanaian youngster Kwabena Appiah-Kubi missed an opportunity to win the Australian A-League title as his Western Sydney Wanderers were beaten 2-0 by the Central Coast Mariners in the playoffs final.

The 20-year-old started the game for Wanderers who were in pursuit of the top flight title in just their first season in the A-League.

He lasted 72 minutes before being replaced by experienced Terek Elrich in the game played at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney.
