Ghanaian midfielder Sharaf Mahama has sealed a move to the Canadian football side, Toronto FC, in preparation for the impending relegation playoff in the Canadian top flight.
Mahama officially put pen to paper on a two-year contract with Toronto FC, following successful negotiations on Sunday.
The 26-year-old midfield maestro arrives at the Canadian giant from Machelen, where he plied his trade in the Belgium Jupiler Pro league.
Toronto FC, determined to fortify their squad ahead of the impending playoff competition, acted swiftly in securing Mahama’s services, aiming to bolster their team’s capabilities.
This significant addition to the Toronto FC roster also comes with a unique twist, as Sharaf Mahama is the son of former President of the Republic of Ghana, John Mahama. He is anticipated to integrate with his new teammates in preparation for the upcoming season.
