Antoine Semenyo has expressed his admiration for former Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan, stating that he looks up to him and wants to emulate his foot steps with the national team.
Gyan who is currently unattached is Ghana’s all-time leading goal scorer with 51 goals in 109 caps.
The former Black Stars captain has played in the country’s previous World Cup appearances in 2006, 2010 and 2014.
Antoine Semenyo who plies his trade in England with Bournemouth believes that he can learn from the former Sunderland hitman and hopes to play like him one day.
“I used to watch him when he came to AFCON competitions and the World Cup. He was such a big player, and I dream to be exactly like him,” he said in an interview with GhanaWeb.
In the 2023 AFCON qualifiers, Semenyo came off the bench to score his first goal for the Black Stars, securing a late victory against Angola in Kumasi.
