Ghanaian centre-back Semeu Commey has sealed a January transfer to Portuguese second-tier side Leixões SC.
The 21-year-old makes the move from Primeira Liga outfit Estrela da Amadora before the close of the transfer window.
The switch is aimed at securing consistent playing time after a difficult spell in the top flight.
Commey failed to make a single competitive appearance for Estrela da Amadora this season.
As a result, the club opted to offload the former Boavista FC U19 defender in search of regular action elsewhere.
Leixões SC confirmed the deal through their official social media channels.
“Semeu, central ganês de 21 anos, reforça o eixo defensiv 𝐵𝑒𝑚-𝑣𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑜, 𝑆𝘦𝑚𝘦𝑢!” the club announced.
The move places Commey in Liga Portugal 2, where Leixões are battling to stabilise their campaign.
He is expected to bolster their defensive options for the remainder of the season.
Commey is still uncapped at senior international level and will hope regular football boosts his national-team prospects.
