Ghana to rule women’s football in two years – Ghana FA boss

Kwasi Nyantakyi says Ghana’s women’s football will take over the continent in two years.

The women’s game has seen a massive decline especially with the senior side, the Black Queens who are now unable to make their usual impact at the African Womens Championships.

The Black Queens used to be a formidable side on the continent with only Nigeria at the time the only obstacle from being number one.

However countries like Cameroon, South Africa and Equatorial Guinea who used to struggle at the Champio9nship have taken over with the Ghana team unable to keep up with the modern trend of competition from these sides.

But the Ghana FA boss says there is a concerted plan in motion to make the Black Queens number one in two years.

“I think that we are on course,” he told Joy Sports

“We have done a lot of investment in school girl football and I can tell you that the future of African football is ours.

“In the next two years, we will be winning the African Championships and we will do that on a sustainable basis.”

Ghana failed to get past Cameroon in the last qualification series for the Africa Womens Championships to be played next year.
