Ghana coach Maxwell Konadu is delighted to have silenced his critics after seeing his side progress to the semi-finals of the 2014 CHAN tournament.
The Black Stars beat DR Congo 1-0 on Sunday night to set-up a semi-final showdown against West African rivals Nigeria on Wednesday.
The Local Black Stars have come under severe criticism for their poor showing on the pitch with the tactics of Konadu being called into questioning.
Despite conceding only a goal so far in the tournament, the free-flowing and traditional passing game of the West Africans has been absent.
However they managed to scale past a resolute DR Congo side in a nerve racking quarter-final contest on Sunday and the ex-Kotoko trainer is thrilled to have kept his critics mute.
“I think when we started this competition very few people had confidence in this team†Konadu said
“For me it’s always better to come to a tournament as underdogs than come with high expectation and just cannot progress.
“In the previous edition we had all the best in the country but they couldn’t even progress from the Group stage.
“Here we are, we have a group of people who think they can fight to the very last minute of the whistle.
“They have believe in themselves, we gave them confidence and told them to go all out and they are pressing on very well at the moment.
“For me I am very satisfied with what I am seeing from these boys and I think that this team has done very well so farâ€
Defender Kwabena Adusei scored the decisive goal through the spot kick in the 67th minute.
