Ghana international Andre Ayew racked up an incredible milestone of his career after netting his 50th French Ligue 1 goal in Le Havre’s defeat to Clermont Foot.

Having previously represented Olympique Marseille and Lorient in the top-flight, the Black Stars captain is back in the Ligue 1, featuring for Le Havre this time.

Since joining the club in October 2023, the experienced forward has already established himself as a key member of the team, scoring three goals in 12 appearances so far.

The Black Stars captain was called action when Le Havre traveled to battle it out against Clermont Foot on Sunday afternoon.

Ayew made a good account of himself in the much-anticipated encounter despite his side succumbing to a 2-1 defeat at the Stade Gabriel-Montpied.

Clermont Foot opened the scoring after just 12 minutes into the game through Muhammed-Cham Saracevic before Ayew stepped up to equalize for the visitors on the verge of halftime break.

The former Swansea and West Ham star has now notched 50 goals in the French Ligue 1 after striking in his sides defeat.

But Muhammed-Cham Saracevic scored again from the spot before the end of the first half to restore his sides lead.

And with no additional goal, Clermont Foot cruised to victory to merit the three maximum points in the game.

He was adjudged Le Havre Player of the Month in February following his stellar performance in the month.

Ayew will lead the Black Stars for the upcoming friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda after being named in Otto Addo’s 26-man squad.
