GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, a few days ago, led a three-man Ghanaian delegation to the 46th Ordinary General Assembly of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) held in Ethiopia. He was accompanied by Vice-President Mark Addo and General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo Esq..
The 46th Ordinary General Assembly was held between 20-22 October, 2024.
The General Assembly was opened by Dr. Patrice Motsepe, President of CAF, and graced by the presence of Ethiopia’s President Taye Atske Selassie, President of FIFA Giovanni Vincenzo Infantino and FIFA Secretary General Matthias Grafström.
The Congress brought together the Presidents of football federations of CAF member countries, leaders of Regional football blocs within the continent, as well as other stakeholders.
The agenda for the General Assembly comprised discussion items dealing with the future of African football.
A number of zonal union meetings, including sessions for COSAFA, WAFU A and B, UNIFFAC, CECAFA, and UNAF, as well as the meeting of the CAF Executive Committee, were all held on the sidelines of the General Assembly.
On the fun side, a friendly match was played at the Addis Ababa Stadium on 21 October, 2024, featuring CAF and FIFA officials and legends to add a festive touch to the proceedings.
