RC Genk manager Wouter Vrancken has confirmed Joseph Paintsil will miss their home game against KV Kortrijk in the Belgian Pro League on Saturday.
The 24-year-old winger has been sidelined since picking up an injury in the 2-1 win away to Union Saint-Gilloise on matchday eight.
“We had hoped that Paintsil would be there at least this weekend, but that won’t be the case. He is an explosive player and then you should not take too many risks with hamstring injuries” Vroncker said in his pre-match press conference.
“Also because Joseph himself had indicated last week that he felt tension. We assume that he will be back against OHL (Saturday 15 November, ed.) ”
The Ghanaian international was in great form before the injury. He scored four goals and provided two assists in eight games.
A stellar start to the season which earned him a contract extension. He is now under contract with KRC Genk until mid-2026
