Genk are nearing an agreement to sign Ghanaian forward Jerry Afriyie from Saudi Arabian club Al-Qadsiah, with negotiations reportedly progressing ahead of the new season.
The 19-year-old attacker has become a transfer target for the Belgian Pro League side as they look to complete a deal for his services. While the move has not yet been formally confirmed, reports indicate that the two clubs are moving closer to an agreement.
Afriyie is currently waiting for clarity over his future after taking part in pre-season training with Al-Qadsiah this summer. His involvement with the Saudi Arabian club comes as discussions continue over a possible return to Belgium and a permanent move to Genk.
The forward spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Belgian club RAAL La Louviere. That spell gave him the opportunity to gain further experience within the Belgian football system and make a significant contribution at senior level.
Afriyie scored five goals in all competitions during his time with RAAL La Louviere, making an impact during his loan period. His performances have helped attract interest from Genk, who are now reportedly close to securing his signature.
