Director of Member Associations for Africa at FIFA, Gelson Fernandes has arrived in Tamale for the GFA Elective congress on Thursday.
The former Swiss International is in the company of Silmara Sousa, Development Program Coordinator, FIFA Member Associations Africa and Ahmed Harraz, Senior Manager FIFA Member Associations Governance Services, FIFA Member Association Governance.
The trio who arrived in Accra on Tuesday, touched down in Tamale Wednesday morning ahead of the congress on Thursday.
The Ghana Football Association will go to the polls on Thursday, October 5, 2023 to elect new Executives to steer the affairs of the Association for the next four years.
Aside the position of President, delegates will elect representatives of the Premier League, Division One League with Dr. Gifty Oware Mensah going unopposed as representative of Women’s Football on the Executive Council.
The contest will spread through the 10 regions where regional delegates are expected to elect their Chairmen after which two will be elected to serve on the Executive Council.
