Greater Accra and Bring Ahafo take lead in KGL Foundation Inter-regional U-17 Colts Championship

Brong Ahafo and Greater Accra Region top their groups in the ongoing KGL Foundation Inter regional U-17 Colts championship after Matchday four.

Brong Ahafo left it late to grab the maximum points against Central Region on Matchday 4. Frederick Opoku opened the scoring in the 25th minute but the lead was short lived as Joel Manteaw scored to draw Central level.

Collins Owusu scored in the extra minute in the second half to give Brong Ahafo all the spoils to take the top spot of with 11 points.

In Group B, Volta region put up an impressive performance against inform Greater Accra after holding the latter to a 4:4 draw game.

Mohammed Awal and Thomas Quayson scored two quickfire goals in the 2nd and 5th minutes to put Greater Accra ahead after a great opening in the early minutes of the game. Volta Region mounted pressure on Greater Accra which yielded result in the 20th minute when Benjamin Habia buried his chance to pull one back.

Thomas Quayson scored his second of the day to extend the lead for Greater Accra but Christian Morti fired from close range to put Volta Region level.

The game ended 4:4 in regulation time and headed for penalties which saw Greater Accra win 5:3 to take them to the top of the table with 11 points.
